How late do you want to go? If you feel like burning the midnight oil, then be sure to check the question of noise restrictions in the area you want to hold your big bash. In more residential areas, even licensed venues have to cut the music off quite early due to certain laws.
Will you be putting money behind the bar? Nothing says extravagance quite like a free bar. If you'd like to treat your friends to a few complimentary glasses of tipple, but don't want the bill to run too high, then a good idea is to have a set time limit (early on) in which drinks are free.
