Film reels and vintage projectors line the walls of The Cinema Museum, where we've been preserving cinema history since moving into this remarkable building in Kennington. Our home has its own fascinating story - these Victorian rooms once formed part of the Lambeth Workhouse, where a young Charlie Chaplin spent part of his childhood. Today, we transform that same space into something magical for parties and celebrations. Our main hall makes quite an impression with its soaring ceilings and authentic period features. We can arrange seating for 120 guests if you're planning a seated dinner or presentation, though most party hosts prefer the flexibility of our standing layout, which comfortably holds up to 300 people. The space fills naturally with conversation as guests explore our collection of vintage cinema memorabilia, from original film posters to antique projection equipment that becomes instant conversation starters. For more intimate gatherings, our 36-seat screening room offers something truly special - imagine watching classic films or personal video messages on authentic cinema equipment. We've added modern touches where they matter: reliable Wi-Fi throughout, a professional PA system for speeches or playlists, air conditioning to keep everyone comfortable, and a flatscreen TV alongside our projector for any presentation needs. While we don't provide catering ourselves, our kitchen facilities are available for your chosen caterers to use, and we're happy to recommend suppliers who know the space well. The building has full wheelchair access and parking available - practical details that matter when you're planning an event.
