Meeting Spaces & Office Space at Workspace - Kennington Park

Brixton Road, London, United Kingdom, SW9
Description
Our grand Kennington Park is as deeply imbued with London history as you can get. Built in 1905, the majestic red brick and terracotta building was once HQ for London's growing fleet of taxis, with offices and space for 2,000 black cabs across the spectacular property and surroundings. Now one of Workspace's most popular spots, it boasts a stunningly beautiful castle-like exterior whilst being glamorous, modern and up to date inside. Think contemporary lounge and atrium spaces, stylish offices, studios and meeting rooms with concrete and wooden flooring, cosy team spaces and chic industrial-style lighting. There's even a gorgeous terrace outside for BBQs, al fresco lunch and after work drinks. A short walk from both Oval and Vauxhall tube stations, it's centrally-located and not only has its own great café – try Hank and Ginger's bacon baps for brekkie, tasty toasted paninis for lunch and coffee and tea throughout the day – but is perfectly placed for those wanting to venture out for food and a break too. Brixton Road is full of independent restaurants like Cafe Van Gogh, a cute vegan cafe with a regularly rotating menu, and acclaimed sushi bar SW9. Mimi's Deli offers a great Italian spread, from breakfast to hearty, filled ciabattas and bagels.

The venue didn't have record of my booking or the booking they did have was incorrect -- so it was a very confusing check-in process for the venue receptionist and myself. It seemed the Zipcube system and the venue system weren't quite syncing up correctly. Once we figured it out, everything was fine. The receptionist was friendly. The room was good size and had many amenities needed for our team brainstorming session. However, no one offered to show us how the technology in the room worked, so took some time to figure out the wifi, the clickshare and the room temperature was super hot which we couldn't figure out how to turn down.

Really great service from Zipcube. They were really attentive, phoned before the booking to check it would meet requirements and were even on hand when I needed to contact them on arrival.

The room was good but the access info was not well communicated from Zipcube and my colleagues struggled to access the building. once someone has been there they know what to do but I booked it remotely, have not been there so could not help and felt helpless!

Do not book this room if you're going to need wifi or an internet connection, or if you have something better to do than waste half a day visiting this place. The internet connection is like something powered by a 90s modem. I booked the room for a job interview on Teams as I was working close by. Fortunately, I've been able to reschedule the interview for next week and the unusable "connectivity" in the room hasn't cost me the job.

Check-in is also fun. The instructions tell you to go to reception if you need anything. They don't tell you that reception is in a completely different building. If you ask enough people in the car park you might get lucky and discover reception, who won't be able to tell you how to access the building or the room.

Worth 35 quid? You wouldn't get me back there if you paid me 350...

Communication, accuracy, check-in and value got one-star ratings because there wasn't an option for no stars or the negative rating the place deserves.

Cleanliness got 1 star because the room being clean doesn't make up for the other failings of the room.
