The wooden staircase curves down past exposed brick walls to reveal our Lower Mezzanine, a semi-private corner of The Goat Chelsea where up to 35 guests can celebrate away from the main restaurant bustle. We've tucked this space on the lower ground floor, creating a hideaway that works equally well for surprise birthday parties, engagement drinks, or focused corporate gatherings. Original wooden beams run overhead while tufted burgundy banquettes line the brick walls, creating natural conversation spots throughout the room. Our team arranges the classic wooden chairs and white-linened tables differently depending on your event - perhaps a long dining table for 25 guests sharing wood-fired pizzas and pasta, or cocktail tables scattered about for standing receptions where people move between the bar upstairs and your private area below. The lighting here sets the mood without us having to do much - wall sconces cast a warm glow across the artwork we've collected over the years, while the brick and timber naturally absorb sound to keep conversations intimate. We've installed modern touches where they matter: the Wi-Fi connects reliably for presentations, air conditioning keeps summer parties comfortable, and our PA system handles background music or speeches without overwhelming the space. From Gloucester Road Station, your guests walk just five minutes through Chelsea to find us on Fulham Road. The semi-private nature means you maintain your own area while still catching glimpses of the energy from the main restaurant - perfect when you want privacy without complete isolation. Our events team configures the space based on what you're planning, whether that's U-shaped seating for 25 during a workshop or clearing the floor for dancing after dinner.
