The Audit Room sits at the heart of Chetham's Library, where the College Warden once retreated to his private study centuries ago. Today, this intimate wood-panelled chamber welcomes up to 16 guests for boardroom meetings or private dinners beneath its ornate plasterwork ceiling, unchanged since the 1600s. Running your hand along the oak refectory table, you'll find curious burn marks that local legend attributes to Dr. John Dee's alchemical experiments. Whether fact or folklore, these scars add character to a room already rich with stories. The original timber ceiling rises above period panelling, while tall windows frame views of Manchester's medieval architecture, flooding the space with natural light that catches the warm tones of the wooden floors and walls. We've carefully integrated modern touches without disturbing the room's historic atmosphere. High-speed Wi-Fi keeps you connected, while our flatscreen TV and projector handle presentations smoothly.
