Celebrating in a pub that's been pouring pints since 1550 brings something special to any party. When you take over all three floors of The Magpie & Stump, you're not just booking a venue, you're claiming a piece of London history right opposite the Old Bailey. We can welcome up to 400 of your guests across our three distinctive floors, each with its own character and purpose. Your party naturally flows through the building, starting perhaps with arrival drinks in our ground floor pub where twenty draught taps line the bar, including Guinness and Timothy Taylor alongside rotating craft selections. Original features and vintage photographs tell the story of centuries past while your guests settle in with their first drinks. The middle floor cocktail bar becomes the heart of your celebration as the evening develops. During our 4-7pm happy hour, your guests enjoy 2-for-1 cocktails, and we keep prosecco at £26 a bottle all night. Plush booths and sleek tables create perfect spots for conversations, while the bar itself draws people together in that way only a proper London pub can manage. Our basement transforms into whatever you need for your event. The exposed brick walls and atmospheric lighting work equally well for wedding receptions with formal dining or birthday parties where the floor clears for dancing. We configure this space specifically for your celebration, and the separate entrance means your party maintains its privacy while your guests enjoy wandering between all three floors. Getting here couldn't be easier, with City Thameslink and St. Paul's tube stations just a short walk away.
