The Exchange Room sits on the first floor with windows that catch the morning sun just right. We've kept the Victorian bones of this space – the high ceilings, the original fireplace – but added pieces that make it work for today's gatherings. The central oak table seats twelve comfortably, with upholstered chairs that guests tend to linger in long after dessert. Natural light pours through the tall windows during lunch service, while the chandelier takes over come evening, creating that perfect glow for wine-paired dinners. The patterned walls tell their own story, mixing period details with contemporary art that our regulars often pause to admire between courses. For private dining, we work with our kitchen teams across the hotel. Perhaps you'll start with dishes from Eastway, or go for something more adventurous with our Japanese offerings. Our catering covers everything from working lunches to celebration dinners, with halal, kosher and gluten-free menus readily available. The room comes equipped with Wi-Fi and music systems, though most groups find the atmosphere does most of the work. Being directly above Liverpool Street Station means your guests won't battle London weather to reach us. Shoreditch sits just minutes away when someone suggests continuing the evening elsewhere. We've hosted everything here from board meetings that needed proper food to birthday dinners where the last guest left at midnight. The Exchange Room works because it doesn't try too hard.
