The Work Room catches morning light through floor-to-ceiling windows that run the length of this first-floor space, where paper lanterns drift overhead like suspended thoughts. We've kept the Victorian warehouse bones visible here, with original brickwork framing contemporary artwork from our rotating exhibitions, creating conversations between old industrial Newcastle and the creative energy that pulses through the building today. Up to 40 guests can gather in this adaptable room, though we find it truly sings with groups of 12-20. The natural acoustics work beautifully for lively birthday celebrations or engagement parties, while the artwork-lined walls spark interesting conversations during drinks receptions. We can configure the space however works best: theatre-style rows for presentations, boardroom setup for strategy sessions, or clear the floor entirely for mingling with cocktails in hand. Our tech setup handles whatever you throw at it, with plasma screens ready for HDMI connections and Wi-Fi that keeps everyone connected without dropping out halfway through your playlist. The Factory Kitchen downstairs offers catering alternatives if you fancy something beyond standard party platters, and our events team knows exactly how to work with this room's quirks, like which corner catches the best afternoon light for group photos.
