The grand bay windows of the Nelson & Dreadnought Room frame the Thames like living paintings, where riverboats glide past and the London skyline stretches from Canary Wharf to the City. This remarkable first-floor space at the Trafalgar Tavern combines Victorian grandeur with everything you need for an unforgettable celebration. Step inside and you'll find yourself beneath soaring double-height ceilings adorned with ornate cornicing, while crystal chandeliers cast warm light across the polished wooden floors. The 19th-century artwork gracing the walls tells stories of maritime heritage, creating an atmosphere that feels both grand and intimate. Those floor-to-ceiling windows don't just offer views, they flood the room with natural light during daytime events, transforming into a glittering backdrop as evening falls. We can accommodate 200 seated guests for wedding breakfasts or formal dinners, with the flexibility to welcome up to 350 for standing receptions. The regency-style balconies add theatrical flair, perfect for those memorable photo moments. For more intimate gatherings, we arrange cabaret-style seating for 50, ideal for celebration dinners with entertainment. The space comes fully equipped with modern essentials including Wi-Fi, PA system and air conditioning, while maintaining its period character. We hold a civil ceremony license, making this an enchanting choice for couples seeking a riverside wedding venue. The adjacent Hawke & Howe bar can be included in your exclusive hire, giving guests a natural flow between spaces for pre-dinner drinks or evening entertainment. Just moments from Island Gardens Station, with Maze Hill station and the historic Cutty Sark nearby, getting here couldn't be easier. Our in-house catering team creates bespoke menus for every occasion, and with our license until 11:30 PM plus the option to bring your own DJ, the celebration can continue into the night.
