Pull up a high stool by the floor-to-ceiling windows in Central Otago, our semi-private space where the Grand Union Canal provides an ever-changing backdrop to your celebration. We've designed this corner of Vagabond Paddington to feel like your own wine discovery zone, complete with those self-service enomatic machines that let your guests pour over 20 premium wines at their own pace. The room wraps you in deep blues and warm wood tones, with plush cushions scattered across the seating that make people want to settle in and stay awhile. We can accommodate 60 of your friends standing with drinks in hand, or seat 36 comfortably around our mix of high tables and regular dining spots. The natural light streaming through those big windows shifts throughout the day, catching the canal water and creating different moods as your party progresses. What makes Central Otago particularly special for parties is how it encourages people to move around and mingle. Your guests become their own sommeliers, sampling wines from the machines while sharing small plates and grazing boards from our kitchen. We've watched countless birthday gatherings, engagement parties and reunion celebrations unfold here, with the interactive wine setup becoming a natural conversation starter. The space works brilliantly for cocktail parties too, with our team on hand to mix drinks while the canal boats drift past outside. We're just a short walk from both Paddington and Warwick Avenue stations, making it easy for everyone to find us. The combination of that waterside setting, the hands-on wine experience, and the flexible layout means your party flows naturally from afternoon into evening, with plenty of room for both lively conversations and quieter catch-ups in different corners of the space.
