Through the tall Georgian windows of the Carlos Room, natural light catches the crystal chandeliers and plays across the marble fireplace that has warmed gatherings here since 1897. We've carefully preserved these original features while creating a dining space that feels both intimate and grand, where artwork from our collection provides conversation pieces between courses. The room comfortably seats 20 guests for formal dinners, though we often arrange it for standing receptions of up to 40 when clients prefer a more social atmosphere. Our events team particularly enjoys setting up the Carlos Room for celebration dinners and private gatherings, where the deep-hued seating and crisp white linens create an elegant contrast against the ornate ceiling details. Many clients choose to begin their evening with cocktails in the adjoining spaces before moving through to dinner here, and we can open up the Regency Room next door when your guest list extends beyond 40. Our kitchen team, led by Hélène Darroze, creates bespoke menus that showcase the best of British ingredients through her distinctive three Michelin-starred approach.
