Natural light pours through the two-storey glass atrium that defines Hogsmire, our most distinctive semi-private event space here at The Other House South Kensington. The room takes its character from this dramatic architectural feature, with daylight filtering through to illuminate the intricate mosaic floor patterns below, a detail that catches every guest's eye as they enter. We've furnished Hogsmire with a mix of plush armchairs and sleek tables that work equally well for cocktail receptions or seated dinners. Large potted trees soften the space, their greenery contrasting beautifully with the glazed walls, while the open fireplace creates an intimate glow as daylight fades. The combination gives the room an almost Mediterranean courtyard feel, despite being in the heart of South Kensington. For standing receptions, we can accommodate up to 80 guests who tend to naturally circulate between the seating areas and the central space. When arranged for dining, the room seats 40 comfortably, with enough space between tables for easy service and conversation. The mosaic flooring provides excellent acoustics, so even at capacity, guests can chat without raising their voices. Our events team has everything covered on the technical side, with Wi-Fi throughout, a flatscreen TV for presentations, and a premium sound system that handles everything from background music to speeches. Air conditioning keeps the temperature comfortable year-round, and we have full accessible facilities. The glazed atrium offers glimpses of the vitality pool below, adding an unexpected element that guests often comment on. For catering, we serve bespoke sharing plates, fresh salads, and our signature cocktails from the exclusive club menu, all prepared by The Other Kitchen team. Getting here couldn't be easier, with Gloucester Road Station just a few minutes' walk away, and the Natural History Museum and Hyde Park practically on our doorstep.
