The mahogany panels catch the afternoon light in ways that transform throughout the day, while our restored stained glass windows paint shifting colours across the Saloon's polished floors. This first-floor room has hosted everything from 50th anniversary dinners to product launches, each event taking advantage of the natural drama created by our baroque chandeliers and that magnificent white marble fireplace. We find the Saloon works particularly well for celebrations that need both grandeur and intimacy. The gilt lettering on the walls tells stories of Glasgow's trading history, giving your guests natural conversation starters during cocktail receptions. For seated dinners, we can accommodate 60 guests comfortably, with the fireplace providing a natural focal point for speeches or presentations. Standing receptions flow beautifully here, with space for up to 100 guests to mingle between the mahogany panels and beneath the ornate ceiling. The room's flexibility extends beyond numbers. We regularly reconfigure the space for different celebrations, from long banquet tables for wedding breakfasts to cocktail furniture for birthday parties. The adjoining door to the Grand Hall opens up possibilities for larger events, perhaps drinks in the Saloon before dinner next door. Our fibre optic broadband and integrated PA system handle everything from background music to video presentations, while the air conditioning keeps the atmosphere comfortable even when the dance floor fills up. The stained glass windows create particularly magical lighting for evening events, though we can adjust our architectural lighting system to set whatever mood your celebration requires. Right in Merchant City's heart, your guests can easily reach us by train, subway or bus, with several car parks within walking distance. Our partnerships with Regis Banqueting and Top Class Catering mean your menu will be crafted specifically for your event, whether that's canapés and champagne or a full three-course dinner.
