The Great Chamber lives up to its name, with an original Tudor ceiling stretching overhead and a magnificent Jacobean fireplace anchoring the room. This is London's last surviving Tudor Great Chamber, where Elizabeth I prepared for her coronation and James I knighted his noblemen, and you can feel that weight of history in every corner. Rich green moiré silk lines the walls, creating a dramatic backdrop for the historic paintings that punctuate the space.
