The Melville Room brings together Georgian grandeur and warm hospitality in one of our most requested private spaces. Rich burgundy curtains frame the tall sash windows, while the original chandelier casts a gentle glow across the heritage prints that line our walls. We've kept the high ceilings and period details that make this part of the historic Whitbread Brewery so special, creating an atmosphere that feels both grand and welcoming. For seated dinners, we can arrange the room for 24 guests at one long table, perfect for those occasions when everyone wants to be part of the same conversation. Alternatively, round tables work beautifully for up to 30 people, giving each group their own space while maintaining the room's intimate feel. When you're planning drinks and canapés, the Melville comfortably holds 50 guests, with plenty of room to mingle between the windows and the bar area. Our kitchen team takes particular pride in what we serve here. Working with small British producers, we create menus that change with the seasons, from spring asparagus to autumn game. The bar stocks everything you'd expect for a celebration, and our team knows exactly how to keep glasses topped up without interrupting the flow of your event.
