Red curtains frame the stage where countless bands have played, and tonight it could be yours. The Basement at Old Street Records Cafe transforms from intimate gig venue to your private party playground, complete with its own bar and that underground Shoreditch energy you can't fake. We've kept the exposed brick walls and industrial bones of this space, adding plush quilted leather booths that run along the walls, perfect for when your guests need a breather between dance floor sessions. The room holds 120 standing or 60 seated, with round tables and high stools we can arrange however suits your celebration. Our colourful lighting system sets the mood, shifting from warm amber during arrivals to full party mode when the DJ drops the first beat. Your private bar comes fully stocked with craft beers, wines, and our signature cocktails, while upstairs our kitchen sends down fresh sourdough pizzas all night. The high-quality projector and PA system handle everything from birthday montages to live band performances, and yes, we've got a proper stage with those theatrical red curtains for when someone inevitably wants to make a speech or sing happy birthday. Our 2am licence means your party keeps going strong, whether that's a hen do dancing to guilty pleasure hits or a birthday bash with live indie bands from our regular roster. The basement works brilliantly for product launches too, with theatre-style seating for 40 when you need presentations before the party starts. We're right in the heart of Shoreditch with easy access to public transport, making arrivals and those late-night journeys home straightforward. Air conditioning keeps things comfortable even when the dance floor's packed, and our cloakroom means no one's clutching coats while they're trying to dance. Wi-Fi's included for those all-important social media moments.
