The Chancellor's Hall sits on the first floor of our Senate House tower, where morning light streams through windows on both sides, catching the bronze fixtures and warming the honey-toned English oak panels. Charles Holden designed this room in the 1930s as a space to welcome distinguished visitors, and today we continue that tradition with your own special events. Walking into the hall, you'll notice how the Travertine marble walls reflect light across the geometric parquet flooring, creating patterns that shift throughout the day. The original Art Deco wall sconces cast a gentle glow during evening functions, while the high ceilings give your gathering room to breathe. Our grand piano stands ready in the corner, often becoming the centerpiece for wedding ceremonies or adding atmosphere to corporate dinners. We configure the space to match your vision. For presentations and conferences, we arrange 140 seats in theatre style, ensuring everyone has clear sightlines to your speakers. Board meetings work beautifully here with 35 seats around our tables, while classroom layouts accommodate 50 participants comfortably. Standing receptions flow naturally through the space with room for 150 guests, and we've hosted countless dinner dances for 100, where the parquet floor becomes a dance floor as the evening progresses. The hall's collection of period portraits and that striking map artwork often become conversation starters during networking breaks. Combined with the architectural details, they create an atmosphere that feels both distinguished and welcoming, whether you're hosting a product launch, wedding ceremony, awards dinner, or company celebration. Russell Square, Goodge Street, and Tottenham Court Road stations all lie within easy walking distance, and Bloomsbury's hotels and restaurants make overnight arrangements simple for guests traveling to join you here in central London.
