The Wallis Room feels like stepping into a private study within a Georgian manor house, where soft green striped wallpaper creates an atmosphere that encourages focused thinking. We've positioned our round dining table at the heart of this 306-square-foot space, surrounded by deeply cushioned chairs that keep everyone comfortable through extended discussions. The arrangement works particularly well for board meetings where eye contact matters, or strategy sessions where papers need to spread across the polished wood surface. Natural light pours through our tall windows overlooking the courtyard, though we control the ambiance with standing lamps and overhead fixtures that highlight the original ceiling moldings from our building's 1720 origins. The side table holds refreshments throughout your session, whether that's morning coffee service or afternoon tea, keeping everything within easy reach without interrupting the flow of conversation. For presentations, we configure the room theatre-style to accommodate 16 delegates, or classroom format for 10 when note-taking space is essential. Private dining events work beautifully here too, with our kitchen team setting the table with fine glassware and linens for groups up to 12. The intimate scale means every voice carries clearly without amplification, making this our preferred space for confidential discussions and high-level negotiations. Being on the ground floor of the main house, the Wallis Room connects easily to our other facilities. Delegates often use the terraces during breaks, walking among the 500 acres of parkland that surround us. The location between Bath and Chippenham provides straightforward access via the M4, while the Cotswolds setting ensures minimal distractions once your team settles in to work.
