The Georgian windows of our 1738 building flood natural light across the party room, where up to 50 guests can gather for celebrations that run as late as our 1am license allows. Since 1986, we've been hosting Bristol's most memorable parties here at Cathay Rendezvous, whether that's birthday dinners with our signature Peking duck served three ways, corporate events that need both great food and professional space, or wedding receptions where families share platters of authentic Mandarin, Cantonese, and Szechuan dishes. Our first-floor party room transforms to match your vision. We've hosted everything from intimate family celebrations with round tables and lazy Susans to standing buffet receptions for business networking. The air-conditioned space keeps everyone comfortable whether you're dancing to karaoke (yes, we have the full setup ready when you want it) or settling in for a long Christmas party that takes advantage of our late hours. Being Bristol's longest-established Chinese restaurant means we know how to handle events. Our kitchen prepares everything fresh for your party, timing courses perfectly whether you're having a formal seated dinner or a more relaxed buffet service. We don't charge venue hire fees - you simply pay for the food and drinks your guests enjoy. Our King Street location puts you right in Bristol's cultural heart. Guests often mention how convenient we are, just a short walk from the Bristol Old Vic and the historic harbour. The building itself, a Grade II* listed former library, adds character to every event with its two levels of dining spaces that can accommodate groups up to 200 when you need the full restaurant. Tuesday through Sunday, 12pm to midnight, we're here to help you create the party you're imagining.
