At Ghillie Dhu, we welcome you into a restored former church that's become one of Edinburgh's most distinctive venues for weddings and celebrations. Our West End location combines the character of original church architecture with everything you need for your special event. The award-winning Auditorium upstairs still features the original vaulted ceilings and architectural details from the building's church days. It's where most of our weddings and larger celebrations take place - the space has this incredible atmosphere that photographs beautifully. Downstairs, our main bar offers a completely different feel with traditional Scottish warmth, cosy snugs tucked into corners, and live music playing every single night. We're open Monday through Friday from noon until 3am, and weekends from 11am until 3am. Our bar stocks an extensive whisky collection, including whisky flights for those wanting to explore Scotland's national drink, plus our own Ghillie Ale and a full cocktail menu. The kitchen works with suppliers from across Scotland - we're particularly proud of the relationships we've built with local producers whose ingredients feature throughout our menus. During summer months, our Whisky Garden comes alive as an outdoor space where wedding guests often spill out for drinks between ceremony and reception. We also show major sporting events on big screens throughout the venue, though of course these are switched off during private events. Whether you're planning an intimate wedding dinner in one of our smaller spaces or taking over the entire Auditorium for a grand celebration, we can accommodate various group sizes. Corporate events, private dinners, and receptions all work well here - the flexibility of having multiple spaces means we can configure the venue to suit what you're planning.
