The glass roof soaring above our Great Map space catches the morning light in a way that still surprises us after all these years. We're the National Maritime Museum in Greenwich, and our building tells two stories - one of 19th-century maritime heritage and another of contemporary event hosting. Our main event space, The Great Map, transforms throughout the day. During museum hours, visitors wander through this grand atrium, but when evening comes, we can seat 500 for dinner beneath that spectacular glass ceiling, or welcome up to 1,000 guests for standing receptions. The new lighting and audio system we've installed means your production team spends less time on setup and more time perfecting the details that matter to you. Before dinner, your guests often gather in The Square on our ground floor, where maritime artifacts create natural conversation starters. When the weather cooperates - and even sometimes when it doesn't - people drift outside to our colonnades and lawns. The view across Greenwich Park to the River Thames tends to draw crowds, especially at sunset. For meetings and presentations, our purpose-built Lecture Theatre comes equipped with the AV capabilities most corporate groups need. We've hosted everything from board meetings to full-scale conferences here, and the contemporary feel of the space works well for both. We regularly welcome gala dinners, product launches, and award ceremonies in The Great Map, while our outdoor spaces have become favorites for wedding receptions and summer parties. December brings a steady stream of Christmas celebrations, with the museum's maritime collections providing an unexpected backdrop for festive gatherings. You'll find us in Greenwich's UNESCO World Heritage site, walking distance from both Maze Hill and Greenwich stations, making arrival straightforward for guests coming from across London.
