Every year when the Oxford and Cambridge crews power past our first-floor patio during the Boat Race, we're reminded why The Old Ship has been a Hammersmith landmark for 300 years. Our riverside pub sits right on the Thames towpath, where the water laps against the embankment just meters from our Conservatory windows. We've carved out two distinct event spaces within these historic walls. Upstairs, our Drawing Room welcomes up to 55 guests with its own private bar and balcony overlooking the river - perfect for wedding receptions where you want your own dedicated bartender and that spectacular Thames backdrop. The ground-floor Conservatory fits 50 people comfortably, and when we fold back the bi-fold windows on summer evenings, the boundary between inside and riverside dissolves completely. Our kitchen serves proper British food - the fish arrives fresh each morning for our fish and chips, and our Sunday roasts draw locals who book weeks ahead. We pour conditioned ales alongside craft beers, and our bartenders mix seasonal cocktails using ingredients from the same local suppliers who stock our kitchen. The main lounge bar buzzes with regular punters and their dogs (yes, we welcome four-legged guests throughout the pub), while our separate restaurant area offers a calmer setting for birthday dinners and corporate lunches. Getting here couldn't be simpler - we're a short walk from Ravenscourt Park Underground station, and there's something satisfying about stepping off the Tube and strolling along the river to reach us. Whether you're planning an office away day, drinks party on the terrace, or canapé reception, we'll work with you to configure our spaces exactly as you need them. After three centuries of hosting celebrations along this bend in the Thames, we've learned a thing or two about making events run smoothly.
