From where I'm standing in Pembroke Lodge, I can see deer grazing in Richmond Park below—it never fails to stop our guests in their tracks. This Georgian beauty sits on the park's highest point, and trust me, those Thames Valley views are worth the trip up the hill alone. We're this wonderful contradiction: grand enough for a proper celebration but relaxed enough that kids can run around the gardens without anyone batting an eye. The house has good bones—proper Georgian proportions, floods of natural light, and rooms that flow beautifully for parties. We've added all the bits that make events run smoothly: decent parking (free, thank goodness), ramps and lifts where needed, terraces for drinks in the sunshine, and a sound system that can handle anything from string quartets to full-on dance floors. Our kitchen team is brilliant—they'll work with whatever vision you have, whether that's canapés and champagne or a proper feast. We do loads of weddings and big birthday bashes, and what people seem to love is that we're not stuffy about it. Want fireworks? Let's talk to the park authorities. Fancy a ceilidh on the lawn? We'll help you sort the logistics. The whole place is licensed for ceremonies too, so you can do the whole thing here if you like. Richmond has plenty of nice venues, but none with 11 acres of gardens and these views. Plus, being in a Royal Park means it's properly peaceful—you'd never guess central London is so close. Come have a look around—preferably on a clear day when you can see for miles. You'll understand why people fall for this place.
