The grand Victorian building next to York Train Station has been our home since the railway age, and we've watched this city grow while maintaining our place as one of Yorkshire's most significant event venues. As The Milner York, we operate from what was originally The Principal York - a landmark hotel that sits just outside the ancient city walls with 155 rooms and suites spread throughout our carefully restored interiors. Our event centre spans 10 distinct spaces that handle everything from board meetings for six to gala dinners for 400. The Oak Room remains our showpiece - those original oak panels and hand-carved details frame panoramic views across our three-acre gardens toward York Minster. We find the Crown and Wedgewood rooms work beautifully for gatherings up to 80 people, while the Ebor Room creates a more personal atmosphere for smaller groups. Wedding ceremonies happen throughout the building since we hold a full civil license. Our events team coordinates every detail, from intimate gatherings in the garden to grand receptions in our ballroom spaces. Between meetings or after the evening celebration, guests often head to Peachey's Bar & Grill for dinner or stop by The Swollen Gambler for drinks. The Garden Room provides another dining option with its bright, relaxed setting. We keep our leisure facilities running daily - the heated indoor pool stays busy, especially when combined with the sauna, steam room and jacuzzi. The gym carries both cardio machines and resistance equipment for those maintaining their routines while traveling. With 90 parking spaces on-site and the train station literally next door, getting here couldn't be simpler. From corporate conferences to wedding receptions to private dinner parties, we've configured our spaces to work for virtually any gathering you're planning.
