Behind an unassuming door on Great Newport Street, we run what was once Soho's most infamous illegal drinking den. The Arts Theatre Club carries the whispers of its past - this was where the Krays held court, where theatre folk escaped after curtain calls, and where London's underground culture thrived during Prohibition. Our candlelit lounge feels like stepping into another era. We've kept the original tiled brickwork and added plush sofas that invite long conversations. Private tables dot the space, each lit by period fixtures that cast the perfect glow for an evening out. The centerpiece is our vintage piano - by day it's a beautiful relic, by night our DJs transform it into their booth, spinning retro classics that keep people dancing until the early hours. We serve our cocktails the way they did back then - in vintage china cups and authentic Prohibition teapots. Our bartenders craft each drink with the same care those original speakeasy owners took to keep their patrons happy (and coming back). Every Friday, blues and soul musicians take over, filling the space with live acoustic performances that echo the club's theatrical roots. The space works brilliantly for private parties. We regularly host birthday celebrations, corporate gatherings, and networking events where creatives and theatre enthusiasts connect over drinks. The intimate layout means your guests naturally mingle, moving between the bar, the comfortable seating areas, and the dance floor as the night unfolds.
