Über The Blue Lion
Every Friday night, we keep the doors open until 1am, and the energy in here is something special. The Blue Lion sits on Gray's Inn Road in Bloomsbury, just a few minutes east of Russell Square, where we've built our reputation as the go-to spot for private parties that actually feel like proper celebrations. Our space works brilliantly for groups of any size - we've hosted intimate birthday gatherings for 20 people clustered around our dining table, and full-blown company parties with 150 guests taking over the entire pub. The layout gives you options: tuck into one of our booths for smaller groups, spread out across the sofas, or commandeer the whole place on weekends and bank holidays when we offer exclusive hire. The pool table in the middle of the bar usually becomes the center of action during parties - nothing breaks the ice quite like a bit of competition over a pint. We pour a rotating selection of cask ales alongside our regular ciders and wines, and our kitchen serves up seasonal dishes made with ingredients from local suppliers. Everything's designed to keep your guests happy and well-fed throughout the night. What makes parties here work so well is the mix of spaces - your group can flow between the main bar area, find quieter spots in our various corners, or spill out into our outdoor seating when the weather cooperates. We've got free Wi-Fi sorted for anyone who needs it, and yes, we're happy to welcome families with children and dogs during our regular hours. Monday through Thursday we're open noon to 11pm, extending to 1am on Fridays. With the Night Tube nearby, your guests can party properly without worrying about the journey home.
