Running your fingers along the hand-painted botanical murals at The Botanist on Church Street, you'll notice how the artwork weaves through our two-floor Cardiff Central venue, complementing the actual river feature that flows through the restaurant. We've cultivated this space with living walls and cascading greenery that transforms both floors into something between a greenhouse and a modern dining room. Our rooftop terrace has become the heart of summer dining in Cardiff, where the wood-fired pizza oven fills the air with the scent of charcoal and fresh dough. Green foliage drapes from the pergolas above, creating natural shade while you enjoy our signature hanging kebabs – they arrive at your table suspended from custom frames, a presentation that gets people talking every time. The bar team crafts botanical cocktails with a particular emphasis on gin infusions, using herbs we grow ourselves when possible. If you're curious about mixology, our cocktail masterclasses run throughout the week in The Greenhouse space, where groups learn to muddle, shake, and garnish their own creations. We've hosted everything from hen parties to corporate team-building sessions in these workshops. Friday and Saturday evenings bring live acoustic sets to the main floor, while the first Thursday of each month transforms into Botanist Bingo – a twist on the traditional game that's become surprisingly competitive among our regulars. Our Private Dining Room accommodates business meetings and birthday dinners alike, with dedicated service that keeps conversations flowing as smoothly as the cocktails.
