Über The Bridgewater Hall

The Bridgewater Hall sits on steel springs—300 of them, to be exact—which completely isolate our 2,400-seat auditorium from the rumble of Manchester's city centre traffic. We built our venue this way because every detail matters when you're hosting the Hallé Orchestra, BBC Philharmonic, and Manchester Camerata throughout the year. Our main auditorium features that famous 5,500-pipe organ you've probably seen in photos, with multiple balconies creating perfect sightlines whether you're planning a corporate summit, AGM, or concert. The acoustics work just as brilliantly for keynote speakers as they do for our 300+ annual performances spanning classical, rock, pop, jazz, and world music. Beyond the main hall, we've designed our spaces to transform for different occasions. The Barbirolli Room serves as a blank canvas where couples create their wedding celebrations—the modern interior means your decorations take center stage. The Charles Hallé Room adapts from boardroom meetings to cocktail receptions, while our conference facilities handle everything from product launches to networking events. Between sessions, your guests can grab lunch at the Charles Hallé Restaurant or catch up over coffee at our Stalls Café Bar. We're right next to Manchester Piccadilly station, so whether your attendees are coming from London or Leeds, they'll find us easily. Our technical team handles the complex stuff—lighting rigs, AV setups, acoustic requirements—while our events coordinators work with you on layouts, catering options, and timing. We've hosted international conferences in the morning and wedding receptions by evening, so we know how to flip spaces efficiently. Each room comes with its own character: the auditorium commands attention, the Barbirolli Room offers flexibility, and the Charles Hallé Room provides an intimate setting for smaller gatherings.
