Three floors of Georgian grandeur meet modern tech at The Grubstreet Author, where we've transformed a historic Moorgate building into spaces that actually work for today's meetings and celebrations. Our 48-seat Cutting Room cinema gets plenty of use - from film screenings with that proper surround sound experience to presentations where the 98-inch screen means everyone can actually see what's happening. The LED lighting system lets you set whatever mood you're after. Upstairs in the Sample Room, that copper bar becomes the natural gathering point for drinks receptions. We've kept the original exposed brickwork because it adds character you just can't fake, while the contemporary furniture means your guests won't be perching on uncomfortable antiques. The Pasteur Room shows off our Georgian heritage with its original wall paneling and herringbone floors - we can seat 66 for dinner here, with that burnt iron chandelier creating quite the centerpiece overhead. Tech-wise, we've sorted everything you'd expect - proper WiFi that actually works, integrated sound systems, and electronic signage you can customize with your company logo or event details. Our kitchen team puts together menus based on what's good right now rather than serving the same tired canapés year-round, and the bar stocks proper wines alongside cocktails we've developed ourselves. We see all sorts here - startups launching products in the cinema, couples hosting wedding dinners in the Pasteur Room, companies running away days with screening sessions and cocktail hours. Being this close to Barbican Underground means people can actually get here without the usual London transport drama.
