Über The Handbag Factory
Our old handbag factory building in Vauxhall has taken on a completely new life as a creative workspace, and we're excited to share some of our spare desks with like-minded professionals. Run by the Artists Studio Company as a charity, The Handbag Factory has become a proper community hub where freelancers, startups, and small businesses work alongside each other in South London. We've kept the character of the original factory - those high ceilings and skylights flood our open-plan office with natural light throughout the day. Our coworking setup includes dedicated desks with high-speed broadband, private phone booths when you need to take calls, and breakout areas where people naturally gather for impromptu meetings or quick chats. The communal kitchen stays stocked with tea and coffee, and you'll often find people collaborating over a cuppa. Beyond the office spaces, we've transformed two areas into proper galleries. Gallery 1 is our larger space at 1,835 square feet, holding up to 400 people, while Gallery 2 offers a more intimate 800 square feet for groups up to 300. Artists regularly exhibit here, and we host everything from book launches and fashion shows to corporate conferences and networking events. Getting here couldn't be easier - we're tucked between Vauxhall and Kennington stations on Loughborough Street, giving you brilliant connections across London. There's secure cycle storage if you prefer two wheels, plus an outdoor patio where people often take their laptops on sunny days. The neighborhood's packed with cafes and restaurants, and our favorite local pub overlooks the Thames just a short walk away. Whether you need a desk for focused work or a unique venue for your next event, we've created spaces that support London's creative and cultural communities while keeping things affordable and accessible.
