Über The Old Library
The Old Library stands proudly in Birmingham's Digbeth district, its Gothic windows catching the morning light just as they have since 1866. We've carefully preserved every architectural detail while transforming this Victorian gem into one of the city's most versatile venues for meetings and celebrations. Our main hall immediately draws your eye upward to the original vaulted ceilings, where natural daylight pours through those distinctive arched windows. We can accommodate 130 guests for seated dinners or meetings, and when evening arrives, the space opens up for 250 people to mingle and celebrate. The grand archways frame our dedicated bar area, creating natural flow between spaces while maintaining the building's historic character. For corporate events, we've installed remote-controlled blinds on all windows, allowing you to darken the room for presentations at the touch of a button. Wall-mounted air conditioning units give you complete control over the temperature, keeping everyone comfortable during long training sessions or workshops. The open floor plan works brilliantly for team-building activities - groups naturally spread out and reform throughout the day. Our kitchen team prepares everything in-house, though we're happy to work with external caterers if you have specific requirements. The adjoining Reading Room serves multiple purposes - some clients use it as a breakout space for smaller group discussions, others set up their buffet there, and it works perfectly as a cloakroom for evening events. Getting here couldn't be easier. We're right in central Digbeth with excellent public transport links, and there are plenty of hotels within walking distance for out-of-town guests. The entire ground floor is step-free, with accessible restrooms and baby-changing facilities available.
