Since 1778, we've been serving Marylebone from our home at 51 Upper Berkeley Street, where The Portman stands as one of nine family-owned neighborhood pubs across London. Our Georgian building houses multiple spaces that work brilliantly for both meetings and celebrations, each with its own character and purpose. Our first-floor Dorset Room floods with natural light through period windows and comfortably seats 36 for formal dinners or opens up for 50 guests at standing receptions. Business presentations work particularly well here, with the bright atmosphere keeping everyone engaged. For smaller board meetings or birthday dinners, we offer the Half Dining Room, which creates a more intimate setting for 16 seated or 20 standing. Downstairs, our Table by the Fire does exactly what it promises – six people can gather around the warmth for working lunches or celebratory dinners. The Mason's Table sits beneath one of our most striking artworks and places groups of eight right in the heart of the main bar's energy. When the weather cooperates, our street-side tables accommodate up to 20 people, perfect for summer team gatherings or relaxed birthday drinks. We focus on seasonal British ingredients, preparing dishes that elevate traditional pub favorites with careful attention to flavor and presentation. Our kitchen team sources produce locally, creating menus that change with the seasons while maintaining the classic dishes people return for. The bar stocks a thoughtful selection of ales, beers, and wines from various regions, chosen to complement our food offerings.
