Original wood paneling from the building's newspaper days still lines our boardroom walls, where Edinburgh's most important stories were once decided. We're The Scotsman Hotel, and our home on North Bridge has been watching over the city since Victorian times, with those same panoramic views of Edinburgh Castle and Calton Hill that inspired generations of journalists before us. Our 10 floors house uniquely designed rooms and suites, including our duplex Penthouse where guests can step onto their private balcony and take in the cityscape. For dining, The Grand Café serves brasserie-style dishes throughout the day, with live musicians performing on weekend evenings. Down in The Hide bar, our bartenders guide guests through our whisky collection in what used to be the old printing rooms - the intimate space still carries that sense of important conversations happening behind closed doors. When it comes to hosting your events, we offer several distinctive spaces. Our wood-paneled Boardroom accommodates 12 people for focused meetings, while the Fettercairn & Garden Suite opens onto its own private outdoor terrace and can welcome up to 230 guests. The marble staircase that once carried urgent news copy between floors now makes for dramatic wedding photography. We've even converted our old dispatch area into The Scotsman Picturehouse, an art deco cinema where companies screen presentations or couples show their wedding videos. Our events team knows every corner of this historic building and helps coordinate everything from corporate conferences to wedding celebrations. Being steps from Waverley Station means your guests can easily reach us, whether they're coming for a board meeting, anniversary dinner, or celebration that spills out onto our terrace as the sun sets behind the castle.
