About The Benchers' Library

Books line the walls from floor to ceiling in The Benchers' Library, where generations of legal minds have pondered complex cases over quiet conversations. Natural light pours through tall windows overlooking Gray's Inn Square, illuminating the polished wooden boardroom table that seats twelve comfortably. The golden drapes frame views of our historic courtyard, while the green carpet softens footsteps during those moments when someone needs to pace while thinking. We've watched countless board meetings unfold around this table, executives leaning back in the high-backed chairs as afternoon sun catches the gilt frame of the mirror above our marble fireplace. The room works beautifully for working lunches too, with enough space for catering to be laid out while maintaining the intimate atmosphere that encourages open discussion. Those red armchairs by the window have hosted many a pre-meeting chat, where deals often begin before anyone sits at the main table. The chandelier and wall sconces provide warm lighting as daylight fades, particularly useful during winter board meetings that run into evening. We ensure WiFi reaches every corner, and our audio-visual equipment integrates discreetly into the traditional setting. For presentations, the room accommodates ten in theatre style, though most groups prefer the boardroom layout for its collaborative feel. Small training sessions thrive here, away from office distractions. The scholarly atmosphere, created by surrounding bookshelves and historic portraits, seems to sharpen focus naturally. Reception events for up to thirty guests transform the space entirely, with people gathering in small groups between the fireplace and windows, drinks in hand. Just minutes from Chancery Lane station, reaching us requires only a brief walk through our historic courtyards. Fair warning: our building's six centuries of additions can be maze-like, but we're always stationed nearby to guide you to the right entrance.

The place is fantastic! very old English. Meeting room was great for the training. The not so good is the signposting (there is none). Tricky to find you way into the place.
