Walking into The Hackney feels like discovering a secret garden inside an old brewery. We've spent years bringing this 1860s building back to life, keeping the original exposed brick and letting tropical plants cascade from our hanging garden throughout the space. The building at 503 Hackney Road started as a brewery over 150 years ago, then became a mechanic's workshop, and now we've transformed it into something quite special for weddings. Natural light pours through our original windows, illuminating the brick walls and greenery in a way that photographers absolutely love. We've kept the soaring ceilings from the brewery days, which gives the whole space room to breathe. Our layout flows naturally from the cocktail bar through to the lounge area, then into a separate dining space where your wedding breakfast can unfold. When the weather cooperates, our covered summer terrace becomes another room entirely. We can seat 60 guests comfortably for dinner, or host up to 100 for standing receptions. Our professional kitchen handles everything from canapés to full wedding menus, while our integrated sound system and wireless microphones mean speeches and first dances run smoothly. The large TV screens work brilliantly for sharing photos or videos during your celebration. During the week, we're a café-bar serving specialty coffee and craft cocktails to locals, but we love transforming the space for weddings. The combination of industrial heritage and living greenery creates photographs you'll treasure - couples often tell us they chose The Hackney specifically because the backdrop needs no extra decoration.
