About University of Bristol Chemistry Building
The Chemistry Building might sound like an odd choice for non-academic events, but stick with me. This is University of Bristol at its most practical – purpose-built lecture theatres that just happen to be perfect for corporate presentations, AGMs, and training days. Our biggest theatre seats 339, with that classic tiered seating where everyone gets a clear view. But it's the 100-seater that often works best for business events – more intimate, easier to manage Q&As, but still formal enough for serious presentations. Both have built-in AV that our tech team manages, so you're not faffing about with cables and connections. The east foyer is a bit of a find for product launches or registration areas. Bright, spacious, right by the main entrance. We've had some creative setups in there – exhibition stands, demo areas, even a pop-up coffee bar for one tech company launch. Getting here is straightforward. Clifton Down station if you're coming from Temple Meads, Redland if you're coming from the north. The university precinct can be a bit of a maze, but we send detailed directions and our team meets groups at reception. What you're really getting here is reliability. University facilities are built to be used hard, day in day out. Everything works, the heating and cooling systems can cope with full capacity, and the WiFi won't fall over when 200 people log on simultaneously. Fair warning: we're an active teaching building, so term-time availability can be limited. But holidays and weekends, the place is yours.
