The Waterside Room here at The Weald of Kent transforms from morning ceremony space to evening party venue with just a few tweaks from our team. We've hosted everything from traditional sit-down weddings to cocktail-style receptions, and the room adapts beautifully to whatever vision you have in mind. Your guests will notice the natural light first, flooding through the large windows that frame views across our Kent countryside. We dress the ceiling with white draping and fairy lights, which catches the afternoon sun beautifully and creates that soft, romantic glow come evening. The white chair covers with your choice of coloured sashes might seem like a small detail, but they tie the whole room together, especially when paired with our top table flowers. The room holds 60 for a formal wedding breakfast or 100 for drinks and dancing, though we find most couples use both options, starting with dinner then clearing space for the evening celebration. Our patio doors open directly onto the terrace, where guests naturally spill out for photos or just to catch some air between dances. During summer weddings, we often serve reception drinks out here while we reset the room.
