Tucked away in the basement of our 1878 building, The Den is where Manchester's creative souls have always gravitated when they want something more intimate than the usual party spaces. This quirky hideaway welcomes up to 50 standing guests, or we can arrange seating for 30 in various configurations, from theatre style to boardroom layouts. The moment you descend the stairs, you're met with exposed brick walls and those dramatic red velvet curtains that frame our private bar. We've kept the original features that give The Den its character, like the vintage patterned wallpaper, while adding the modern touches that make parties flow smoothly. The black leather banquettes line the walls, paired with round wooden tables where groups naturally gather as the night unfolds. That chandelier hanging from the ceiling casts just the right glow across the space, and yes, we've got a disco ball ready when things get lively. Our sound system is built right in, so whether you're bringing a DJ or creating your own playlist, the acoustics down here are spot on. The private bar means your guests never have to venture upstairs for drinks, keeping the energy contained in your own underground world. We've hosted everything from raucous birthday parties to surprisingly productive corporate workshops down here. The projector and flipchart might seem at odds with the party atmosphere, but plenty of creative agencies have used The Den for brainstorming sessions that turn into celebrations.
