The Large Drinks Area opens straight onto our main beer hall floor, giving you the best of both worlds: your own dedicated space while still feeling connected to the buzz of Big Penny Social. We've designed this section to handle groups of up to 100 standing or 90 seated, with a mix of booth seating for quieter conversations and communal tables where your guests naturally gather and chat. During daylight hours, the big windows flood the space with natural light, then as evening arrives, strings of lights overhead create that perfect party glow. Weekend nights bring our resident DJs who kick things off from 8pm, filling the space with music that gets people moving between the bar and your tables. Our kitchen sends out wood-fired sourdough pizzas straight from the oven, and if you're here on a Sunday, the roasts are proper crowd-pleasers. The bar team pour from our rotating selection of craft beers, and we always keep alcohol-free, vegan and gluten-free options on tap. Everything comes from local suppliers when we can manage it, keeping our seasonal menu fresh and interesting. For corporate gatherings, we've got all the tech sorted: WiFi throughout, projector setup, flatscreen TVs and a PA system that actually works. The whole area stays comfortable with air conditioning, and we've made sure it's fully accessible with wheelchair access and adapted toilets.
