We've preserved the original wood-paneled walls and the remarkable hand-painted ceiling, where celestial motifs sweep overhead, adding character to every discussion that takes place here. Four high-backed chairs surround the central table, creating an intimate boardroom setting where small teams can focus without distraction. The traditional fireplace anchors one wall, offering warmth during winter meetings, while those leaded windows keep the space bright and connected to the gardens beyond. We find the room works particularly well for one-to-one sessions, strategic planning meetings, or confidential discussions where privacy matters. Our venue's medieval architecture extends into this space, with the same attention to historical detail you'll find throughout the property. The rose garden view provides a natural talking point during breaks, and many groups appreciate stepping outside between sessions. The 30-acre parkland and direct beach access mean you can clear heads with a coastal walk or simply take coffee on the terrace. The Card Room's ground-floor location makes access straightforward, with no stairs to navigate. Natural light fills the space throughout the day, reducing the need for artificial lighting and keeping energy levels high during longer sessions. We can arrange refreshments to be served directly in the room or in one of our adjacent spaces, depending on your preferences. Available for half-day bookings from 8am-1pm or 1pm-6pm, as well as full-day sessions from 8am-5pm, the space accommodates various meeting schedules. The combination of historical atmosphere and practical amenities creates a distinctive environment for focused work away from typical office settings.
