About Berenjak Soho
Our charcoal grill fires up every morning at Berenjak Soho, filling 27 Romilly Street with the smoky aroma that defines our kitchen. We've transformed this corner of London into something reminiscent of Tehran's backstreet kabab houses, where the mangal barbecue and tandoor oven take center stage in our open kitchen. Guests often tell us they love watching our chefs work the flames, sliding skewers of marinated meat over glowing coals while taftoon and sangak breads puff up in the clay oven. The exposed brick walls and mosaic floors create an atmosphere that works brilliantly for celebrations - we've hosted everything from birthday parties to corporate gatherings in our space. Our semi-private garden room holds up to 16 people comfortably, tucked away from the main dining area yet still capturing the energy of the kitchen. For larger events, we can accommodate up to 35 guests when you take over the entire restaurant, or up to 50 for standing receptions. We designed our menu around sharing, which naturally brings groups together. Small mazeh plates arrive at the table - perhaps our coal-cooked aubergine with walnuts or freshly baked breads with various dips. Then come the kababs, charred and smoky from the grill. Our Kabab Torki puts a modern spin on kebab and chips that always gets people talking. Traditional sharbats provide a refreshing break between courses - these fruit cordials mixed with herbs can stay alcohol-free or we'll spike them with spirits for those who prefer. The Michelin Bib Gourmand we've held since 2019 reflects what we aim for: proper Persian cooking without the fuss. Our distressed plasterwork and intimate lighting create the right mood for any gathering, whether you're planning a relaxed dinner party or a lively celebration with dancing between the tables.
