Our design agency, The Working Assembly, occupies the entire top floor of a historic Flatiron building, and we open our 4,500-square-foot penthouse workspace to teams who need an inspiring place to meet and collaborate. Two private elevators bring you up from the manned reception area directly to our floor, where windows on all four sides and multiple skylights flood the space with natural light throughout the day. We've configured our office to support different meeting styles and group sizes. The main open area accommodates up to 30 people at powered standing desks, while two enclosed Room phone booths offer privacy for calls. Our design book library creates a more relaxed setting with comfortable couches, and the banquette seating with café tables works well for informal discussions. Three separate conference rooms handle more traditional meetings—our two larger rooms come equipped with wall-mounted monitors, meeting hardware, and dry-erase boards. The kitchen serves as more than just a break area. We've installed a superautomatic espresso machine alongside our regular coffee maker, plus hot and cold filtered water dispensers to keep everyone hydrated. The full-sized fridge, ice maker, microwave, toaster oven, and dishwasher mean you can easily handle catering or bring your own food. An additional seating area off the kitchen gives people space to eat and chat away from work zones. Throughout the day, you'll catch glimpses of the Empire State Building, neighboring rooftops, and classic New York water towers through our panoramic windows. Three en-suite private bathrooms eliminate queuing, and our fast fiber internet keeps video calls running smoothly. We've also got a professional laser printer/copier for any documents you need. The building's freight elevator with its separate street entrance makes loading equipment for photo shoots or events straightforward.
