About Dock Street Studios
Our two recording studios at Dock Street Studios serve as creative havens for musicians, producers, and artists across East London. Just minutes from Aldgate station in Zone 1, we've built these spaces specifically for those moments when sound matters most - whether you're laying down tracks for your next album or hosting an intimate listening party. Studio 1, our flagship room, centers around an SSL AWS-948 Console that our engineers have come to know inside and out. The acoustics here, crafted by Nick Whitaker, handle everything from full band sessions to delicate vocal overdubs. Down the hall, Studio 2 offers a more intimate setting where songwriters often retreat to work through new material or producers fine-tune their latest projects. We keep our instrument collection ready for whatever direction your session takes. The 1980 John Spencer upright piano sits in perfect condition alongside our 1973 Fender Rhodes - both regularly maintained and played. Our 1960s Ludwig Hollywood drum kit has recorded countless tracks over the years, and the vintage guitar collection provides authentic tones that plugins just can't replicate. For capturing these sounds, we rely on our Neumann U87s and the pair of 1960s AKG 414EBs, running through classic EMI valve pres and our Shadow Hills master compressor. Between takes, the lounge area becomes a natural gathering spot, while our kitchen stays stocked for those long sessions. The Hue lighting system throughout lets you adjust the atmosphere - bright for daytime tracking, warm for evening sessions, or dimmed for film shoots and screenings. We've hosted everything from band rehearsals to photo shoots, mixing sessions to small showcase performances. The rooms adapt naturally to each use, making Dock Street Studios a working space that feels right for your creative process.
