About Haywards
The old skittle alley's vaulted ceilings create quite the impression when clients first walk into Haywards. We opened our doors at 111 Bell Common in Epping back in 2013, and after running as a 3 AA Rosette restaurant for a decade, we made the switch to focus entirely on events in summer 2023. Amanda and I (Jahdre) found that hosting celebrations and gatherings was where our passion truly lay. Our main dining room, transformed from that historic skittle alley, works beautifully for different group sizes. We can seat 50 comfortably for formal dinners, or open up the space for 80 guests at cocktail-style receptions. The high ceilings give even smaller meetings an airy, relaxed feel - perfect when you need people to think creatively or celebrate freely. For those wanting something more intimate, The Stable is our smaller space that still has the original stable features intact. We've kept the character while making it comfortable for modern dining, and it seats 14 people perfectly for board meetings or private celebrations. The exposed beams and original details make it particularly popular for milestone birthdays and small wedding parties. We handle everything from corporate conferences to christenings, with our kitchen team creating menus using ingredients from local Essex suppliers. Whether you need a working lunch for 10 or canapés for 80, we adapt our seasonal dishes to suit. Our event planners work directly with each client - no generic packages here, just proper planning based on what you actually need. The venue comes with practical touches too: plenty of parking on-site, accessible facilities throughout, and we've even got a one-bedroom apartment upstairs if anyone needs to stay over. We also offer our catering services off-site if you've already got your perfect location sorted.
