About Kupfer
Four floors of creative energy fill our 1898 building here at Kupfer in Shoreditch, where exposed brick meets original wooden floors that have witnessed over a century of East London stories. We've transformed this historic space into a cultural centre that breathes life into art exhibitions, creative gatherings, and now offers dedicated desk spaces for those seeking an inspiring work environment. Each of our floors spans 455 square feet with 2.60-metre high ceilings flooding the rooms with natural light through period windows. The white walls serve as blank canvases—literally, when we host exhibitions—while the original wooden flooring adds warmth to every gathering. We currently offer the ground and second floors for events, each comfortably hosting up to 35 people for standing receptions. Our community thrives on flexibility. We provide high-speed Wi-Fi, a projector for presentations, and specialized tools for hanging artwork when you're mounting an exhibition. The third-floor kitchen becomes a social hub during events, and we encourage you to bring your own refreshments or arrange external catering. Play your own music, create your own atmosphere—we believe the best events happen when you make the space truly yours. For those seeking office space, we've created an environment where creativity flows naturally. Our desk spaces come with access to the shared kitchen, reliable heating, storage shelves, and something unique—an in-house wood workshop facility for when inspiration strikes in three dimensions. Whether you're launching a book, hosting an informal networking session, organizing talks, or simply need a desk where ideas can flourish, our non-profit status means every pound spent here directly funds our exhibition and residency programmes.
