The salt air hits you first when you step into the Marine Theatre, our 125-year-old home right on the Lyme Regis seafront. We've been hosting celebrations here since Victorian times, and the building still carries that theatrical magic in its bones. Our main auditorium transforms beautifully for parties and weddings. The semi-sprung wooden floor means your guests can dance comfortably all night, and we can arrange seating for 220 people or clear the space for up to 394 standing guests. The stage adds drama to any celebration – we've seen everything from live bands to surprise performances from wedding guests. What really sets us apart are those windows overlooking the Jurassic Coast. During sunset parties, the whole room glows golden, and at night, the harbor lights create this intimate atmosphere that photographers absolutely love. Our upstairs bar opens onto a balcony where guests naturally drift during cocktail hours, drinks in hand, watching the waves below. We keep two fully equipped dressing rooms ready – brides use them as prep spaces, bands as green rooms, or party hosts as quiet retreats. The forecourt outside works brilliantly for arrival drinks or when guests need fresh air between dancing sets. Our two bars stay busy throughout events, stocked with local ales and spirits from Dorset producers. Our technical team handles all the sound and lighting requirements, whether you need subtle mood lighting for dinner or full stage effects for entertainment. We've hosted wedding ceremonies, birthday parties, anniversary celebrations, and corporate events, adapting our layout each time.
