The Oaksmere stands as a testament to Tudor craftsmanship, its timber frames and original features telling stories of centuries past while we've carefully woven in every modern comfort you'd expect. Our 17 acres of Suffolk parkland stretch out around the manor house, where ancient oaks frame views across manicured lawns and our restored Victorian walled garden bursts with seasonal produce that finds its way straight to your plate. We've created 14 bedrooms here, each with its own character – some tucked under original beams, others opening onto private terraces. Dogs are welcome in several rooms, because we know they're family too. Our kitchen team works closely with our own butcher to prepare everything from hearty pub classics to refined celebration menus, depending on where you choose to dine. For parties and celebrations, our marquee sits perfectly positioned among mature trees, offering space for up to 150 guests. The structure connects seamlessly to our terraces where children can play on the lawn while adults enjoy drinks as the sun sets. Inside the main house, three private dining rooms provide more intimate settings – the oak-paneled library seats 12, while our orangery restaurant floods with natural light through its glass roof, the open kitchen adding theater to every meal. We handle weddings, milestone birthdays, corporate gatherings, and family reunions with equal attention to detail. Our events team coordinates everything from initial planning through to the last dance, working with you to use our spaces in whatever configuration suits your celebration.
