There's a reason the Exchange is difficult to describe without seeing it first. Edinburgh's former agricultural trading floor — now one of the city's most sought-after event spaces — carries the kind of atmosphere that takes decades to accumulate. Soaring ceilings, original architectural details, and natural light through period windows create a backdrop that no modern venue can replicate.
At full capacity, the main hall holds 3,000 standing guests. But the space is just as compelling at a fraction of that — configured for a wedding reception, a corporate dinner, or a product launch where the room itself becomes part of the experience. A built-in PA system, multiple projection screens, and high-speed Wi-Fi capable of handling hundreds of simultaneous connections mean the technical infrastructure keeps up, whatever the occasion.
Lighting does a lot of the heavy lifting here. During the day, natural light picks out the period features beautifully. Come evening, our technicians use the fully dimmable system to shift the mood entirely — highlighting architectural details, washing banquet tables in warm light, or creating the kind of atmosphere that keeps guests talking long after the event. We've seen this room dressed with exhibition stands, elaborate floral installations, and everything in between, and it carries each one with ease.
