The Sunken Lounge Step down into our most photographed space and you'll understand why couples and event planners keep coming back. The Sunken Lounge's distinctive dropped floor creates natural theatre, drawing your guests' eyes to the centre of the action whether that's your first dance or keynote speaker. We can welcome up to 400 guests for drinks receptions here, or seat 230 comfortably at round tables. The original 1930s design means everyone gets a clear view, thanks to the tiered effect created by the sunken floor. Those high ceilings with their period details give the room real presence, while our warm lighting setup transforms the space from day conference to evening celebration at the flick of a switch. Your tables come dressed in crisp white or dramatic black linens, complete with napkins and proper cutlery, no plastic here. We've built in a proper dance floor that's seen everything from ceilidhs to disco nights, and the main bar sits just outside, so nobody misses the action while grabbing a drink. Food-wise, we handle everything from networking finger buffets to full three-course wedding breakfasts. Our kitchen team works with fresh ingredients and can adapt menus for dietary requirements. Need extras like a DJ, centrepieces, or one of those selfie mirrors everyone loves? We work with trusted local suppliers who know the space inside out. Getting here couldn't be simpler, we're right off the M1 and M42, with East Midlands Airport just down the road. Your guests get proper parking too, over 300 spaces, all free. The whole building has level access and lifts, so everyone can join the party. This Grade II listed Art Deco gem on London Road gives you that ready-made vintage glamour without any of the usual heritage building headaches.
