The Barn sits tucked away behind our main inn, a converted outbuilding that we've transformed into one of our most requested private dining spaces. Step through the door and you'll find yourself in a room where original features meet thoughtful modern touches—exposed ceiling beams frame the space overhead while a dramatic wall of stacked logs runs the length of one side, creating that countryside feel our guests love. We've designed The Barn around a single long oak table that seats 24 comfortably for dinner parties, though we can reconfigure the space for standing receptions of up to 30 guests. The deep blue walls might seem an unusual choice for a barn conversion, but they create an intimate atmosphere that works brilliantly for celebration dinners and small wedding receptions. Natural light pours in through the windows during daytime events, while evening gatherings take on a more intimate feel with our warm lighting. Chris Wheeler and his kitchen team craft bespoke menus for every Barn event, whether you're planning a milestone birthday dinner or hosting clients for a working lunch. The proximity to our main kitchen means dishes arrive at their peak, from delicate starters through to indulgent desserts. We've found The Barn works particularly well for wine dinners and tasting menus where guests can focus on the food and conversation without distractions. Practical details matter too—we've installed a projector and flatscreen TV for presentations, complimentary Wi-Fi keeps everyone connected, and the entire space is wheelchair accessible with ground-level entry. Our location near Burnham Beeches Nature Reserve provides a peaceful backdrop, while ample free parking on-site means your guests won't circle the village looking for spaces. Many groups combine their Barn booking with accommodation in our two guest bedrooms, turning dinner into a proper countryside escape.
